I formulated this to promote bronchial calm and comfort, support respiratory tract well-being, support healthy mucous membranes in the respiratory tract, and strengthen and rejuvenate the respiratory system.

Adhatoda vasica is useful in treating bronchitis, tuberculosis and other lung and bronchiole disorders. A decoction of the leaves of Vasaka may be used to help with cough and other symptoms of colds. The soothing action helps irritation in the throat and the expectorant will help loosen phlegm deposits in the airway.

Tulsi acts as an anti-inflammatory and can help lower inflammation, and lowers the risk of heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel conditions. Chewing tulsi leaves cures fever, headache, sore throat, cold and cough.

In the world of herbs, licorice root is primarily known as a demulcent (that is a soothing substance taken internally to protect damaged or inflamed tissue) and an expectorant (a substance that assists in expelling mucus from lungs and throat). Licorice root is commonly used in alternative medicine to treat colds and sore throats. However, licorice does not only act upon the respiratory system. It can also be soothing to the gut and work as an effective liver cleanser and blood detoxifier when combined with other herbs.

Cardamom: Also known as elaichi, cardamom’s small green pods are a rich sources of minerals and antioxidants that aid in blood detoxification and resolve digestive issues. The aromatic spice also contains vitamin C and other essential nutrients. Drinking a cup of elaichi tea in winter is sure to ward off symptoms of cold and enhance your mood.

Suggested Use:

Take ½ to 1 teaspoon, every 2–4 hours or as needed. Dose may be added to hot water and drunk as a tea.
